Apology – a regretful acknowledgment of an offense or failure.

Whether it be from person to person interaction or a company putting out a marketing ad that goes through numerous chains of command before being put out, things are happening that require apologies. However, the words “I’m sorry” or “I apologize” no longer hold much value. People use it as the easy way out of things in order to feel justified for whatever wrong they have committed. It’s easier to simply say sorry for some rather than to actually not do whatever it is they did in the first place. They are usually a repeat offender and don’t really care whether or not you’ll accept the apology and will just issue one as a formality. Basically taking on the “what’s done is done moniker”.
Over the course of the last several years, we have seen many celebrity figures cheat, steal, and do or say something offensive that may have caused them some embarrassment that, under normal circumstances, would cost someone their career.
This is exactly what the NFL, Pepsi, who even apologized to the adult that willingly took part in the ad they were apologizing for, Dove and most recently H&M have now done.
With the most recent online ad from H&M, several celebs and non-celebs have taken action, including musical artist The Weekend announcing that he would no longer work with the brand. Several artists have also turned this negative into a positive by changing the image altogether to something more reputable and respectable for a young African American male and we thank them for that.

Do adult and, most importantly, business linked apologies still hold value with you or do you agree that people should act with common sense and do the right thing in order to avoid having to apologize altogether?
